Good Days...

You know its going to be a good day if... you're already painting before breakfast...

Childhood is wonderful...

Pip Pop Party...

The other night I heard scrambling little footsteps running up the basement stairs... 3 little monsters emerged, bustin' out all sorts of what Hayden called "Pip Pop" dance moves...
(Where did they come up with this? Some of you may be asking yourselves. Just in case you were wondering... No, Rob and I aren't into watching "Gangsta" movies or rap music videos. The truth is, my kids really like this show on Discovery Kids called Hi-5, which is an adorable "little kid" show about imagination and singing. Well, immediately following Hi-5, is a not-so-adorable (in my opinion) show called "Hip Hip Harry", which is also meant for kids, where they teach them how Hip Hop dancing can help you solve problems in your every day lives. And some people wonder why the world is so messed up!?!
Apparently I need to work on turning the TV off after Hi-5...)

Happy Day for Sophie May...

Our little Sophster turned 2 - Wahoo!! What a fun little rascal she is...

Adorable anticipation of the traditional cake (or donut) in bed...

Here are a few more shots of her super fun day and some others just because she's so stinkin funny and cute...

We love you to pieces, Sophie-Girl!

Strawberries and Cream Cupcakes!

So, about once a year I get the itch to enter a baking competition. Not that I really think that I'm that great, but it's just fun to come up with new recipes and see if people like them. So... this year I entered the Duncan Hines Red Carpet Cupcake Contest with this delectable dessert... Strawberries and Cream Cupcake
The contest winner is chosen by who gets the most votes for their cupcake recipe. So if you're feeling up to it, check out my recipe at this link http://www.wildfireapp.com/website/6/contests/42530/voteable_entries/6134959
and vote for it if you like it. (You can vote once a day till July 28th) Thanks so much!

Year of Dates: June...

For our June date-night, Rob and I went to La Piazza on Larimer Square, an Italian street-chalk-drawing festival downtown Denver. It was amazing...

This was the coolest drawing of all, that is a mirror cylinder in the middle... although I think that the artist was probably trippin, if you know what I mean...

The hoof polish was more than I could resist...
You see all sorts downtown, including this winner...

It was such a fun date, and the best part was that is was totally FREE!

Farewell Minnesota...

Minnesota was as awesome as ever and we LOVE our big, huge family as much as ever! These are the last random shots from our adventures...

Farewell to MN and farewell to the stink-eye!

On the Lake...

We always enjoy going to Aunt Mimi's house on the lake when we go home to MN. It's such a beautiful place! This was a shot of everyone cheering for their dog, Murphy, swimming out to rescue a stick...
I think we eat more s'mores in our 2 weeks in MN, than we do the whole rest of the year...
Sophie was always being toted around by one of her uncles. I think that she enjoyed the view from up high... and that they gave her pretty much whatever she wanted, especially Uncle Davy...
Hayden thought Mimi's boat was the best part of the trip. He even got to drive it...
Nana and Grandpa are the best...

White Hair Club..

Doesn't get much whiter than this... Afton, Ellie and Sophie were voted "The Whitest of Them All". I vote them the sweetest of them all, too. Maybe sweetness and white hair are on the same gene...?
