Pinewood Derby...

Hayden participated in his very first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby this year. I'm not sure who was more excited about it, Hayden or Rob? They spent weeks fashioning the fastest, coolest car that they could dream up. It was some great quality time for the both of them..

Waiting for the checkered flag...

The Cheetah on the starting line...

Hayden was super proud of his car, it won more races than it lost. Way to go Hayden!!

The whole troop...

What an awesome and fun bonding experience for fathers and sons. I love Cub Scouts!

Daddy Daughter Dance...

It was Ana's very first Daddy daughter dance at school. It was a western theme, so these two cow pokes gussied up in their best get ups and headed out for the night...

They had a rootin' tootin' time, Ana's favorite part was learning the "chicken dance".

The Trap Has Been Set...

Ana has been begging me for days to help her build a leprechaun trap, so today was the day, the final chance to get it done before they arrive. And she was so cute about it. She didn't want it to be just any trap, it had to be "tricky". So we thought and we searched, and finally came up with one that she was sure would catch her a little green man. So this is how it went down...
We created the bait, gold of course...

Added an obstacle, because she only wants to catch an adventuresome one...

Embellished with a rainbow, because we all know that leprechauns can't resist a rainbow...

We set the trap! That little bugger better tread lightly, or he'll be Ana's for sure...

And here is the finished product, a highly sophisticated rock climbing wall, trap door snare. Sure to catch even the most clever little 'chaun...

Good luck, Ana!!
.............................................................................................
The next day:
So, the leprechauns were a lot trickier and smarter than Ana anticipated. They ripped every rock off her climbing wall, and swiped every last piece of gold without falling through the trap door. Oh well, she's already planning a more sophisticated trap for next year.

They did leave a few things behind though. Leprechauns have a really soft spot for cute kids, and can't take off without leaving them some souvenirs...

And they leave a kiss on every naughty kid that they see, in hopes that it will help them make better choices...

Hayden discovered that they made a pit stop before jumping out our bathroom window...

Who knew they have green pee?!?

Surgery...

I walk into the kitchen to find this...

Sophie:(quietly, in a very high pitched voice) "Aaaahhhhh.... aaahhhh..."

Me: "Sophie, whatcha doin?"
Sophie: "Surgery."

Rob's profession may have had some influence on our children, ya think?

Valentine's Day Party...

It turned out to be our turn in our babysitting co-op over Valentine's Day weekend, so what better to do with bunch of kids than have a party! We made love notes for our Moms and Dads...

Decorated some sweet treats...

And tried to catch some hearts...

And if they weren't doing that, they were basically just looking cute the whole time...

It was a good time, with great friends.

Sophie Pink...

Lately, everything that Sophie loves is "pink". She literally calls me "Mommy pink" and Rob, "Daddy pink". And she loves her "pink house", and her "dolly pink" and her "pink doggy". Well, we love you Sophie Pink!! You are our perfectly PINK little pill...

Baby Doll Doctor...

Hayden "accidentally" broke the leg off of Sophie's baby doll. So he decided to "fix" her... a Scotch tape cast, and chopstick crutches. The hilarious thing is, he was totally serious about it. He felt really bad, and thought that this would really make it all better. He is such a sweet boy, and never ceases to crack me up...

Sisters Weekend 2011...

As I mentioned before, I got go to Utah in February for a weekend with my best-friends, my sisters.
This was the greeting I got when I got off my plane. I love these girls so much...

We always start out by making lots of yummy food (mostly snacks and treats, of course)...

Then there are crafts, which always take forever, because there is always way more talking going on than crafting...

Next came the CUPCAKE WARS! That's right, 4 teams...

My team, the Blonde Hula Mamas (everyone else was secretly jealous of our awesome aprons)...

5 secret ingredients...

And 2 rounds, one for planning/shopping...

And one for baking/decorating...

Oh... and a third round for sabotage! But I'll get to that later. Like I said before, they were jealous...

The cupcakes...

We only had one glitch in the plans, the cupcakes weren't finished until about midnight and so we ended up with... let's just call him a "less than qualified" judge, my brother Jon (ie. the Blonde Hula Mamas did not win)...

But it's pretty hard to win when you have fish oil in your cupcakes!! The perpetraitor... MY MOM!! She acts like an innocent lamb, but she's really a WOLF in sheep's clothing! She and my sister Ana were totally jealous of our awesome cupcakes and so they thought they would try to get a leg up. Well, cheaters never prosper and they didn't win either! But it was a blast, and we all know who would have won if we had a qualified judge;)

The next day we spent in Provo, we got to see the Carl Bloch art exhibit at BYU. It was so amazing to see the original pieces of some really famous artwork in the LDS culture. I guess I wasn't supposed to take pictures, but I didn't know that until I had already taken these...

Then we headed to the Marriott Center for some BYU Basketball...

Mom gettin' some love from Cosmo...

Go Cougars!!!

Stop... Jimmer-Time!!!

My sister, Kami, is friends with Coach Rose's daughter. He was so nice to give us tickets in some SWEET seats. We HEART you Coach Rose...

It was a fun-filled, action-packed weekend that was just what I needed to recharge my batteries. Thanks for all the good times girls!
